For stores on Klaviyo · 10k–250k profiles

Stop paying
for ghosts.

Klaviyo bills you for every stored emailable profile — including the thousands who checked out once in 2022 and never opened anything again. Ghostfee finds them, suppresses them through Klaviyo's own API right before your billing recount, and shows you the receipt.

No card. Tell us about your store and we'll email your real number within 48 hours.

The problem · in merchants' words

Your list grew. Your revenue didn't. Your bill did.

In February 2025 Klaviyo moved every account to billing on stored active profiles instead of what you send. Lists accumulate. Bills only go up. These are real complaints, linked to their sources.

"Been paying for 50K+ profiles when maybe 15K actually give a ■■■■ about my emails... My email revenue hasn't budged in months but my bill keeps going up."

Shopify merchant, Aug 2025 · community.shopify.com ↗

"A 50k list on Klaviyo runs $790+/mo... The markup is enormous."

Hacker News, Mar 2026 · hn.algolia.com ↗

A 20,000-contact store emailing only 8,000 people jumped from $150/mo to $375/mo from the billing change alone.

How it works · Klaviyo-documented, not a loophole

Suppressed profiles are free. Klaviyo says so itself.

Ghostfee automates the exact cost-management mechanism Klaviyo documents in its own help center — with guardrails, timing, and an audit trail.

Scan

Connect with a read-scoped API key. Ghostfee buckets every profile: Engaged, Drifting, Ghosts, Protected. You see the dollar figure before anything happens.

"Klaviyo does not charge for suppressed profiles." — Klaviyo Help Center ↗

Guard

Rules protect future buyers: never suppress recent purchasers, recent signups, or anyone mid-sunset-flow. Unsuppression is a 90-day commitment, so restores fire only on strong signals — checkout started, resubscribed.

Bulk suppression runs on Klaviyo's public API: POST /api/profile-suppression-bulk-create-jobs ↗

Suppress before the recount

Suppression lands ~36 hours before your billing cycle recounts profiles, so the recount sees your real list — and prices you on the tier you actually use.

"If you delete or suppress 4,000 or more active profiles... before the end of your billing cycle, you will stay on your current plan." — Klaviyo Billing FAQ ↗

Five things most tools would put in small print.

  1. You can do a one-time clean yourself, free, in about 20 minutes. Build a segment, click "Suppress current members" — Klaviyo's docs show you how. Ghostfee sells the recurring automation, the billing-cycle timing, and the guardrails — not secret knowledge.
  2. Every savings number is a projection until your first recount lands. Our copy says "projected" because we don't have your ledger yet.
  3. We are not the cheapest. unblot ($49–149), List Hygiene ($30), and Prune ($9) are live rivals. We're betting you care more about never suppressing a future buyer than about $50.
  4. Unsuppressing has a 90-day lock on Klaviyo's side, so our restore logic is deliberately conservative.
  5. Platform risk is real. This whole category rests on Klaviyo's documented policy that suppressed profiles are free. If Klaviyo changes that, Ghostfee's value drops to zero and you can cancel monthly — which is exactly why there's no annual lock-in.

Why tell you all this? Because our first users will come from communities that smell marketing from orbit, and because the audit is free — if the number isn't worth it, you'll know before we've cost you anything.
